Palm springs as youv'e never seen it from a local Melbourne photographer ....

As we all know I am a bit retro tropical mad so I had to share these beautiful images created by Melbourne Photographer Tom Blachford.
I love it when someone creates something that makes you say wow yeah, great idea… how has this not been done before?
Everyone knows the iconic images of Palm springs modern buildings in the hot dry desert. Toms portrayal of this beautiful mid century architecture and retro scene under the light of the full moon is magical. Its almost like you are being let in on a secret life normally hidden by darkness. There is a certain Theatrical timeless calm about these images. The use of long exposure photography gives what would normally a shadowed scene an almost animated effect.
I would love one of these for my bedroom so I could picture myself transported across to Palm springs in the 60s.
The response has been amazing thus far and has now inspired a book based around this stunning Midnight Modern series. He will again be returning to the desert and California to capture more of these mysterious images.

From $650 USA which I think is a great investment as I think he is one to watch.
What do you think of these images?? Would you put them in your place?
